Let's Hear it for Harland!

Last night at CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST someone brought to my attention that the new CITNE building is on Harland Drive in Covington, and that Harland is the first name of one of my all-time favorite heroes, Harland David "Colonel" Sanders (September 9, 1890 – December 16, 1980), the Founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)!

I like the Chicken from Popeye's and Mrs. Winner's, but for my money, there is nothing better in the world than (Original Recipe) KFC chicken!...except for KFC grilled chicken...man, when that came out a couple of years ago I got so addicted to it that I gained a new-found compassion for crack-heads!

But the amazing Colonel Sanders is a hero and an inspiration to me because he started his food empire so late in life...he was living proof that it's never too late to do something amazing with what you have in your hands.

I'm assuming you're familiar with his story.

I've been all over the world, but I've never been anywhere that there wasn't a KFC!

I mean, I've seen Colonel Sanders' smiling image on signs in every major city I've visited on the planet, and even in some of the most remote areas of the earth...even out in the jungle!

Colonel Sanders is global!

Not only is his secret recipe one of the wonders of the world, a foundation he established in his later years aids charities and funds scholarships with more than a million dollars in grants a year.

I love that we're moving to Harland Drive.

And I may go get some chicken later...it really is finger-lickin' good!

  2. Thought of posting this daily quote from Abraham-Hicks this morning but forgot about it until listening to your message tonight.

You cannot be less than you are now. You cannot achieve a vibration that is less than the vibration that you have achieved. That's why when someone achieves an empire and then something happens where it is lost or destroyed, they still have the vibration that they've achieved, and the empire will come back again—you see it all the time—because it is the vibrational status that the Universe is responding to, not the financial status.

    --- Abraham

A conglomeration of some of their other quotes that have been rolling around in my head for about a month:

    Hold fast to the vision...
    Make peace with outrageous abundance...
    Trust the process...
