A MOVEABLE FEAST

I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been somewhat of a challenge having services in a different physical location each week for each service, and as I said in a previous post, we're in constant pursuit of a permanent home for both CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST and CHURCH IN THE NOW MIDTOWN.

I wrote a message to CHURCH IN THE NOW ONLINE a couple of posts ago, explaining why we sometimes have technical difficulties with the Internet streaming because of our current mobility.

That being said, I just want to take a moment here and give God some praise...and the amazing people who are partakers of this vision some props...for what seems to be happening in our midst. As you can see from the FB albums posted here of pics from services in the last couple of weeks, we are all over the place....AMC Stonecrest Cinema (CITNE Sundays), Rockdale Auditorium (CITNE Wednesdays), Virginia Highland Church (CITNM Thursdays), Apres Diem (CITNM Sundays)...but no matter where we are, the people keep showing up, and God keeps showing Himself strong.

Here in the south, we're currently experiencing a massive heatwave, and this is Fourth of July week, when many people head out of town, so I wouldn't have been all that shocked or disappointed if the Sunday crowd had been down in number...but when I walked into the theatre this past Sunday, I was greeted by a packed house of Spirit-filled people, worshipping God with all their might! The crowd was up, the offering was up, the attitude of the congregation was up...everything was up!

Then when we went downtown for CITNM COMMUNION BRUNCH, the crowd was so large in the lounge at Apres Diem that I wouldn't have been at all surprised if they had told us we couldn't meet in there because there just wasn't sufficient room for everyone.

Yeah, we need a permanent locale...and I know the people who set up and tear down for each service are probably a little maxed out...but I am so grateful to see what is happening with the church family through all of this transition time...with the REAL CHURCH, which is a house for God not built by hands.

What is happening right now is taxing on us physically (I'm referring to the constant moving), but what it's building in the hearts and minds of the people is priceless.

More than one person has said to me in last few days, "I really feel like we've turned a corner", and I believe that they are right.

We are strong and resilient and fearless and powerful...and most importantly, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is with us, wherever we meet.

Frankly, I'm kind of amazed that after all we've been through, the church is as alive and healthy as it is. Apparently, it's true that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, because that certainly seems to be the case for us.

Here are some pics from recent services at CHURCH IN THE NOW EAST and CHURCH IN THE NOW MIDTOWN (Sunday June 24 and Wednesday June 27)

And I don't have any congregation shots from Thursday, June 28, but the crowd at CITNM was up, considerably...here's a pic from the praise and worship...

And here are pics from this past Sunday, July 1...it was just an awesome day, all day long...

Remember, there will be no Body Builders tomorrow or service tomorrow night because of the 4th.

Have an excellent holiday, and celebrate your unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!

There will be service Thursday night for CITNM at Virginia-Highland Church, and Sunday CITNE will be back at the theatre for another great worship experience.

I love you, CITN people...you're all simply beautiful!

And God is good!

IN HIM WE MOVE!

Thank you for having the courage to be your authentic self and follow Him...wherever that leads. Obviously, there are so many on that same path. The rewards have been so much greater than any challenges we have faced. This has been the best year of my life! The Spirit and the Bride say COME....just come and see....

We are truly the "Church of What's Happening Now":) God will show up and show out wherever two or more are gathered in his name, and that is the point. As a matter of fact, Jesus' "church" (body of people) were constantly on the move. Jesus did not need a building to preach his Father's Word. I have no doubt that we will end up being exactly where we need to be when the time comes. I am so blessed to be a part of the CITN community!
